bringing the gospel to a new generation
Building for the Future
Building for the Future
bringing the gospel to a new generation
In June 2024 we bought our new premises in Camelon - a striking A-listed building designed by renowned architects Gillespie, Kidd & Coia. We're in the midst of an ambitious project to renovate what was an ageing building falling into disrepair, transforming it instead into a long-term home for a thriving church family and a place of welcome and hope for the community of Camelon and the wider Falkirk area. LDN Architects, Edinburgh are helping us to develop the facilities in a way that's sympathetic to their history but meets the practical needs of an active congregation and a living community.
More and more people are discovering that, while life without God offers them nothing, the gospel of Jesus Christ holds out meaning and purpose in a way that nothing else can. Many are finding in the Bible the truth they've been looking for all their lives. We want to grow in the faith that we've found, and share with others the good news that's been shared with us. To that end we've been meeting in the main sanctuary on Sunday evenings and midweek since June 2025, but we're looking forward to moving the whole of church life on site once the renovation is complete.
We've raised a good proportion of the funding for the project, but still have some way to go. If you'd like to help us financially as we seek to get over the line, we'd love to hear from you - please contact us.
You can read more about our plans, and see some images of the proposed renovation, below.
ENTRANCE
A new, brighter, more welcoming entrance will draw people into the building. Otherwise, since we're in a listed building, we're making minimal changes to the exterior. But we'll be landscaping, improving car parking, and making the grounds more attractive and suitable for lots of church activities.
SANCTUARY
A reimagined space for public worship on Sunday mornings and evenings, but flexible to be used in other ways too. The old, creaking heating system will be replaced and a wooden floor will bring new warmth to the building. A built-in, glass-walled creche area will allow parents of young children to be a part of what we're doing, with new toilets alongside it. A brand new kitchen will serve into a break-out area to the side of the main service space, allowing for social gatherings as well as occasional church meals.
MEETING SPACES
Attached to the main sanctuary is a two-story house which will be completely renovated from top to bottom. Old stairs will be removed and replaced with a new, fully fire-compliant stair. We'll develop a range of meeting rooms of different sizes - for the church's youth work, for other meetings, and for community use.
